The closer we inch toward April, the more you hear about taxes. Preparing your taxes is not exactly an exciting endeavor — it is a tedious task all Americans must share. Taxation without representation was one of the central causes for the Revolutionary War, a series of battles waged to gain independence from Great Britain. From that rebellion centuries ago came the foundation of our government today, and with it, the ever-evolving structure of our tax system.
To get you in a positive mood before you file, let’s talk about all the good things your taxes contribute to. They’re why libraries are possible and potholes are filled.
